Besides the unusual operation times, this place rocks. Try the brownies!!! Friendly staff and tender meat.

Great ambiance.. the aroma of smoky wood chips fills the air, and makes you think you're dining in the 1800s! The ribs had a nice bark on them and fell right off the bone, although a couple of the ribs had excess fat on them, but still very flavorful. The house BBQ sauce is good as well. Probably the best BBQ I've had in OKC.

Small but well kept and decorated. Nice restroom. Easy order with service to the table. Ordered rib dinner with potato salad and fried okra-hot and fresh . Ribs were tender and well seasoned with dry rub. Brisket lean but a little dry. Good baked beans. Great friendly service.

I used to frequent this place years ago, but am no longer able and really miss it! Great BBQ and very friendly staff. My personal favorite is the two-meat sandwich with chopped brisket and hot links. Both the mild and hot BBQ are the best around. Price is reasonable for a BBQ joint. Really loved going to this place!

You know how it's always a gamble when you go to a place that looks kinda strange, or hole-in-the-wall, or appears to be some guy's house in a residential neighborhood right next to a car shop? This is a really, really good gamble. The food is phenomenal, best BBQ in Oklahoma City as far as I'm concerned, and we're always using them for Christmas and Thanksgiving turkeys on top of everything else. I went back once again just to make sure everything's still great before posting the review, and no complaints on my end. The staff know half the customers by name, the food is fairly priced, and the flavors are fantastic. For lunch, I had the "two-meat sandwich" (in my case, pulled pork and chopped beef mixed together) and my wife had a smoked 1/2 chicken basket. Both were (to use a technical term) awesome. If it's your first visit: Turn the knob fully or the door will not open and you'll feel silly. You'll order and pay at the counter, then go around the side of the counter to grab silverware, lemons, etc., then seat yourself. Staff will refill your drinks and deliver your food via the traditional technique of yelling your first name and seeing who responds. Can't say enough good things about the place. Just don't tell too many people because it's crowded enough at lunchtime already.

Was really looking forward to trying this place based on the reviews. I love home town BBQ but was a little disappointed in this place. Good: Atmosphere, Mom and Pop joint to a T. Friendly staff very helpful Bad: Brisket was "over done" and a bit dry. Okra was overcooked and hard. Baked beans were cheap tasting and lacked the full flavor you'd expect. Overall: I'm sure Jt's is a good BBQ place. My experience might be isolated, but I've just had better sauces and quality food back East.

Best BBQ I've had in OK yet. The atmosphere is spectacular. You really get to feel southern hospitality. The meat is cooked perfectly. My food was absolutely on par with some of the best BBQ places I have been to across the country. I highly recommend you treat yourself to a very fair priced meal that will leave you feeling like you just revitalized your soul.

Let's see. This place is kind of like wandering into some strange woman's house in Del City, Oklahoma, whose husband is an expert at cooking meats. It is literally in a house and it seems like everybody in there is a regular, which gives you that initial intruder feeling and panic of not knowing the customs of sitting and ordering (order at the counter then find a seat on your own) only to be proved silly insecurities by sincere hospitality. My Father-In-Law has been raving about this place for a while and he didn't oversell it. The ribs were solid. smoky and tender. The sauce, a little more vinegary than we typically get here - a little less sugary. Nothing blew me away but nothing disappointed. It will become part of my bbq circuit.
